Dear Alexandra House,
Dear Alexandra House,
Thank you for an amazing year. We’ve made it an unforgettable experience and have truly made this house a home. Looking back to when 28 new Dinos joined us this year – some nervous and some excited – we welcomed everyone in and made a special community. One of my favourite parts of us has been our energy in the house, always smiling, whether playing with Lucy Langer at sign in or just chatting with each other. As always, we had an electric Interhouse presence this year. From the court or field to the arts, even if we hadn’t done an activity before, we always came together. Although our house is small in numbers, we showed up in spirit. Another moment was when we pulled through for our 2016 themed Open House. Decorating the night before brought us all together with a hint of anticipation for the night to come. The whole house came together as one.
To the Grade 9’s, thank you for making the house so bubbly and fun. To the grade 10’s, thanks for your excitement. To the grade 11’s, thanks for your, sometimes quiet, sometimes loud, but altogether strong and friendly presence in the house. And finally, to the grade 12’s, even though we didn’t quite perfect the duty thing – much to Ms Warner’s dismay – thanks for everyone’s hard work and dedication this year in the Alex House community.
None of our Alex House community would have been possible without the tireless work of our Houseparents Ms Warner and Ms Langer. Thank you for always supporting us through our challenges and being our moms away from home. You create the foundation for the Alex House community to stand strong on.
During my four years in Alex, I have crossed paths with so many different people and cherished every moment and experience. I’ve looked up to and learned so much from those who came before me and will forever be grateful. Thank you for everything, Alexandra House – and don’t ever be reined in.
