Inside Scoop: Grad Council in Action

Every graduating class dreams of finishing high school with unforgettable memories; behind those moments is a dedicated group of students making it all happen. The Grad Council is more than just a club, it is the heart of the senior experience.

For our weekly meetings, we gather in the Livingston Room and pay our undivided attention to Ms Ramsay. She guides us through logistics, event approvals, and ensures we stay organized while letting our ideas become reality. Sahir T, Rogers ‘26, our Grad President, works especially closely with her, coordinating meeting agendas and communicating with the members of the council. He recognizes that “The Grad Council has been working hard to create special events for everyone” which acknowledges the importance of inclusion for our Grad Class.

At its core, it is our mission to bring the Class of ‘26 together. From organizing Snowball and Spring Formal to leading fundraising projects, members work tirelessly to ensure every detail reflects the spirit of our class. For example, Brandon R, Ellis ‘26 and Aanish T, Ellis ‘26 collaborated to raise awareness for the Purdy’s Chocolate Fundraiser by creating a slideshow to share with the students and staff, as well as creating videos to involve the students’ perspective on the fundraising project.

Much of the planning for Grad Council activities happens behind the scenes and often take place during students’ own time, highlighting our dedication and commitment! The activities not only raise funds but also create moments where classmates come together, building school spirit and successful events.

But perhaps the most rewarding part is this sense of connection. The Grad Council is not just about raising money or planning parties; it is about creating spaces for classmates to bond, celebrate, and reflect on their shared journey. Fundraising, Grad bonding, and spirit weeks all start with a simple idea, but every idea presents an opportunity for us to step up, lead, and turn plans into action. It reflects our ability to work together thoughtfully and collaboratively. Kate M, Alex ‘26 comments on our teamwork, “It’s a privilege to be part of a team where collaboration feels so effortless!”

Grad Council would not be the same without Ms Ramsay, whose guidance and unwavering support uplift us through every challenge. In our most recent meeting, Ms Ramsay inspired us with a powerful reminder to always “Step fearlessly into the arena,” encouraging us to be brave and to never let anyone dictate what we should or should not do.

This message resonates deeply with us, and we hope it inspires everyone who reads it to embrace courage in their own journey.
