On Friday, our sculpture teacher, John Boehme, will be opening an exhibit at the Nanaimo Art Gallery from 5-7pm. Full description below.

The Nanaimo Art Gallery, 900 Fifth Street location, presents “The Video
Body: The Private Self as Public” from January 8th to February 13th, 2010

Artists John Boehme's, Farheen Haq's, Judith Price's and Jeroen Witvliet's Video Art projects use and engage their private self to become an engaged public body. These artists structure their own personal narratives as sites of investigation and resistance to mass media's influences. They conceptualize and investigate sites of codes and language to present complex diverse narratives that, in a gallery space, feed into and out of each other's projects and are ripe with a multi-narrative that resists easy

interpretation.
