Junior Girls Rowing Crew Honour Bob Dallin

This past weekend, two representatives from the Junior Girls Rowing Crew honoured former Boatman, Bob Dallin, by planting a rose bush in his wife’s garden. The girls wanted to honour the great man who kept them safe while they were on the water for so many years. The rose also has great significance; it is called the "Navy Lady" in honour of the Canadian Navy’s centennial, which starts celebrations this week in Victoria. Bob’s wife, Bernice, had the girls plant the rose bush in her garden where she will be able to see it while she sits on her deck. Bernice was touched by the thoughtfulness of the whole team and really enjoyed having the girls over to plant the rose bush. What a perfect gift to honour Bob, who served 40 years in the Canadian Navy with his Lady standing by. The girls will never forget Bob, the man who watched over them on the water and in the Brentwood Boathouse. Thank you Alia and Stacey for getting your hands dirty in your spare time on Saturday.
