Due dates. Something Brentwood students and staff are more than familiar with.

On my calendar, I have the following: (from least to most important)

April 20th – AP micro test
May 10th – AP Micro exam
May 12th – AP English exam
May 3rd – Yearbook Due

Since September Mr Ganley, Ms Rusman, and a group of 14 dedicated students have spent each Monday, Wednesday and Friday creating a masterpiece of memories called the Brentwood Yearbook.

The Yearbook is compiled of 300 pages of pictures and articles from throughout the year. From Sports teams to Spring Events. Concert for a Winter’s Eve and Careers Day. Eco-Challenge and Academics. Nothing goes on around campus without the yearbook team knowing.

The book is due to be sent off to the printer by May 3rd, which means its rush time. “There will be some high-pressure moments in the three weeks we have left to complete the yearbook. We set the bar very high by ensuring that we include every single student in a candid photo, but we’ve never missed that guarantee before and I’m confident we’ll get there before May 3rd” adds Mr Ganley. “We also count on House Captains, Sports Captains, Mr Fletcher and every single graduating student to get their articles, photos, and grad write-ups in on time.” Without them, we would have no book.

One Yearbooker, Julia P, Alex ‘23 feels as though “The group has really come together these past few weeks to give everything we have to get the book in on time, and we can’t wait to see the final product.”

While Mr Ganley and the crew might be under overwhelming pressure for the next two weeks, it will all be worth it! In June when everyone is jumping around from dorm to dorm to get their friends to sign it – it will be worth it. In 30 years from now, while we’re showing our kids how ‘cool your dad was in high school’ it will be worth it.

When you see that beaming smile cross the faces of Avik B and Simon G, Privett ‘23, It will be well worth it.
