Ms Erin Stevens
Every year we seem to lose a couple of our essential teaching staff to retirement. While it is sad to see our colleagues move on, it can also be an opportunity for new perspectives and energy to be injected into our faculty. When we said goodbye to a much-loved Brentwood veteran, Alanna Martin, last June, it opened the door to hire another energetic and highly organized individual to add to our teaching staff. Ms Erin Stevens came to us in June to work as our Grad Sponsor, SPARC Assistant and also as a Learning Centre support staff. As a school, Brentwood is always striving to hire the best fit for our robust programs and Ms Stevens is the perfect addition to our team. Erin is a veteran teacher and also a Brentwood parent, having graduated two boys from Brentwood (Liam and Isaac) and having her youngest son, Tait, presently in Grade 10. Her husband, Daryl, also coordinates the Grade 8 program. Erin taught in Saudi Arabia for 7 years and is an accomplished teacher who has a background in organizing school-based events. The move back to Vancouver Island for Erin and her family is a welcome one as she grew up in Campbell River. Erin has already become a staple on our campus, completing several very successful projects, including our annual Airband competition. As Grad Sponsor, Erin is working closely with our Grade 12 students to make their year a special one. She is putting the finishing touches on the plans for our formal Snow Ball Gala, and will be focusing on the details of our Grad Dinner and Dance to be held at the Victoria Conference Centre in June. Brentwood is very lucky to be able to attract quality individuals like Ms Stevens to our school who enrich the lives of the students and inspire the staff members around them. Please join me in welcoming Erin and her family into the Brentwood family.
