In 2017, Mack House was awarded the best RFA, Ms Ramsay. She is a mother to her son, Keiran ‘26, and her four dogs. She loves martial arts and has trained in Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwondo, along with woodworking, and being able to help others with tough situations.

When she joined Brentwood & Mackenzie House, she united with her lifelong friend, Ms Scheck. Describing her arrival she stated, “I had no idea that the house and all who dwell within its walls would capture my heart.” In 2020, she became the RFA Coordinator on campus and will be returning for ‘21-’22 in the roles of Head of SAC, Interhouse Coordinator, as well as RFA Coordinator. When asked why the Brentwood Community is so important to her, she answered that “The past year has been somewhat fractured globally, but I feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of this community where we all lift each other and challenge each other to be our best selves.”

She was born and raised in PEI and eventually moved to Ontario where she went to school. Later, she made the move to the West Coast where she started her career in nursing in geriatrics. She then moved on to spinal cord injury rehab and eventually landed in brain injury recovery care for many years. Then she went back to the University of Victoria where she upgraded with courses in Social Work, which allowed her to join the Victoria Cool Aid Society. She became the Team Leader at the emergency homeless shelter downtown, working with individuals with severe drug and alcohol addictions, as well as mental health barriers. She also drove the mobile outreach unit for Peers, and worked frontline on the streets with individuals who lived and worked on the streets of Victoria. In 2007, she was awarded the first-ever civilian award “ Award of Accommodation” for outstanding community leadership, by the Victoria City Police.

Ms Ramsay would like to remind everyone that “You are going to make mistakes, and make decisions you will regret, but do not allow your past mistakes to dictate your future. Instead, be guided by a moral compass that leaves no questions about who you are; and most importantly, be kind in all that you do.”
