Privett this year has been, in a word, hectic. To say that the energy felt by both the returning and the new students was mere excitement is an understatement. From day one of Orientation, the House has been alive. The Grade 12s stepped up to the plate, and carried on the Privett traditions. Along with the brand new set of boys, all of us were greeted to a freshened house in September. The facelift of the common room really made it feel more like home. The new and improved kitchen also welcomed in a whole range of wanna-be chefs. From the sound of the number of fire alarms, it’s safe to say that few are quite there yet. Acting as prefect of all things foody, I got to see the rather “elegant” creations hungry teens would concoct. The barbeque was seldom used this year: each time the boys would try to be men, the task of managing a charcoal barbeque seemed beyond their grasp. Will Kenny, Privett ‘16 The Privett boys competed magnificently in all of the Interhouse events this year. Starting the year with Eco-Challenge, Santiago G paddleboarded to victory, coming in first to give Privett a second place finish overall. Scoring multiple buckets, Joe “Turbo” Small led the basketball team to a third place finish. In senior boys’ soccer, Nauman Khattak and Alex Bejanski competed diligently to score a goal, and give Whittall a hard-earned victory. With the team on his back, Afyz Mohamedali single handedly carried the house, placing third in debate. Spelling “Sabotage” correctly, Alex Bejanski earned himself a second place finish in the spelling bee. In terms of squash, Krish “The Truth” Prabhakar and Campbell “Randall” Ferrie displayed their trill skills, giving the team a hard-earned bronze. William Kenny and Mr. Neufeld submitted a chocolate peanut butter cake that earned a first place. It was a solid year for Privett. Salman Khattak, Privett ‘16
