At provincials, Madison H, Keaton H, Sion G, and Tony E all placed top 3 in 1 or more events. Liam S, Ayo O, Reece FR, Ope RA, Femi RA, and Sam L also competed. Madison placed 3rd as a senior in her 1500m run with a time of 4:38.66: her personal best is 4:30.34 from 2016. Madison also placed 2nd with 2:12.59 in her 800m run.  Keaton placed 3rd in both 800m and 1500m as a junior. Keaton’s 800m was run very well with his new personal best: he ran a 1:57.27 in finals! His progression from 2:01.17 at the beginning of the year is breathtaking. Although he got 3rd if he had run with the seniors, he would have won. Keaton’s 1500m final clocked in at 4:10.58, his personal best being 4:04.14 from the qualifying meet for provincials.  Sion G, who came straight off the field from playing at the provincial rugby tournament in neighbouring Abbotsford, competed in javelin throw as a senior. Even though he had badly injured his throwing hand earlier in the year, he managed to place second with a throw of 52.22m increasing his personal best from 47.84m.  Tony Else competed in long jump and shot put. He jumped 5.38m – his personal best being 5.52m; however did not make top eight. In shot put he placed 3rd with a personal best throw of 12.76m beating his previous personal best by 55cm.  Ayo and Liam both competed in senior discus. Ayo finished 23rd with a throw of 26.69m well Liam placed 27th with a throw of 23.95m. Like Sion, both were also playing for Brentwood’s senior boys’ team that had just won the semi-final game. Reece competed in both 80m hurdles and triple jump as a junior. She placed 27th overall in 80m hurdles after preliminaries with a time of 14.50. Reece also placed 26th in triple jump with a jump of 9.27m. Ope competed in 200m as a senior. He placed 27th overall after preliminaries; however, he got a personal best of 24.00.  Femi competed in 110m hurdles as a senior. He placed 25th overall after preliminaries with a time of 19.37. Sam competed in 200m in the Grade 8 category. He placed 14th overall after preliminaries with a time of 25.55.
