Rogers House of Rock

Last Saturday night, Rogers House turned up the volume with the first open house of the school year–and it was nothing short of electric. With a house of rock theme, students from every grade packed the house wearing their grungiest attire. From liberty spikes to full-on face-paint, everyone nailed the rock-n-roll dress code.

The senior Rogers’ boys kept the crowd moving with a playlist that had everyone on their feet. Meanwhile a suitable ‘mosh-pit’ formed in the center, giving the night an authentic rock vibe.

One of the biggest highlights came when our senior students took the stage for live performances, showcasing some serious talent. Arts Captain Kerrington G, Allard ‘26 wowed the crowd with her original songwriting and vocals. Then, Grady N, Rogers ‘26 and Jackson L, Ellis ‘26 tag-teamed two high-energy covers backed up by lead guitarist, Julian G, Rogers ‘26, and the crowd lost it. “It’s crazy to hear everyone singing along with you up there, I didn’t expect it to go as well as it did for our first performance” Said Jackson L, Ellis ‘26. Between the jumping, shouting, and questionable lyric accuracy, the ‘mosh-pit’ never missed a beat.

Beyond just music, the night was filled with community spirit. Students from every grade were shoulder-to-shoulder- mingling, dancing, and soaking in the kind of energy that only Brentwood students can create. “Open house gives everyone a chance to branch out and interact with new people” explained Alex D, Rogers ‘26.

From the flashing lights to the roaring music, open house captured some of Rogers’ and Brentwood’s biggest values: community, bold spirit, and authenticity. It’s obvious that Rogers House has set the bar high for any upcoming open houses. Students left the house buzzing, messy hair, shoes a little scuffed, and hearts full of school spirit. One thing is for certain: if this open house is any indication, “Rogers House is ready to rock-and-roll through the rest of the school year” quipped Sahir T, Rogers ‘26.
