Senior B Volleyball 1

The Senior B Volleyball team came into the season with sixteen athletic girls ready to bring their A game to the court. Coming into each practice, we were ready not only to improve our skills so we could face each team head on, but to have fun as well. With the help of this year’s coach, Ms Mackenzie, we saw great improvement in our skills over time, and we left the season with many cherished memories. We didn’t have too many practices before we started getting into league games. That being said, this was no hindrance on our tenacity. We fought for every ball, fighting hard until the ball hit the ground. Some of our rivals this season included Chemainus SS, Lake Cowichan, Duncan Christian, Queen Margaret’s, and of course, Brentwood’s long-time rivals, Shawnigan Lake School.  As the season progressed, and we learned new skills, we came home with more wins, which was a testament to all the hard work we put in at practice. The demands of the volleyball program not only allowed us to improve our skills, but it also gave us the chance to become friends. As the season progressed, we got closer and formed new bonds, and the team bonding activities planned by our coach greatly contributed to this.  The final test for the Senior B Volleyball team was our tournament at Cowichan SS. As this was our only tournament of the season, it gave we a chance to showcase all that we had learned throughout the season. Although we came into the tournament a few players short, we still managed to pull through, winning the majority of our games. A special thanks to Ms Mackenzie for coaching us and leading us to great success this season. With the guidance of our coach, the Senior B Girls were playing as a unit by the end of the season, and I congratulate my teammates on all of our successes.  Glory C, Mackenzie ‘18
