Senior Boys Basketball Win at Shawnigan

Coming off a successful first weekend that involved capturing second place in the Saanich Slam, the boys travelled to Shawnigan Lake School on Tuesday afternoon where they played the first game ever in Shawnigan’s brand new sports complex. Like all Brentwood – Shawnigan games, it was a hard fought battle in front of a loud and boisterous home crowd. The Brentwood boys were a little uncharacteristically careless with the ball and struggled on the defensive glass but showed some grit down the stretch and managed to come away with a 66-63 victory. In the first half, Matt L scored the ball well and Victor A provided a spark off the bench to give Brentwood a small two point lead at the break. In the second half, James L was terrific at both ends of the floor and paced the Brentwood squad with 21 pts. Aron S also converted on a huge three point play late in the game to give Brentwood a much needed cushion in the final minutes.
