Serving up Victory

As the sun peaked over Mount Baker and smiled onto campus, you could hear the soft chirp of birds playing their morning song. But they were quickly silenced with the roar of buses arriving with eager competitors thirsting for tennis victory. Regular Brentwood students made their way to Friday classes, but the tennis team had a more important mission: winning. The team had to host a two-day tournament and fundraiser. Their vision was simple; they had to make money and win. According to the team, they proceeded to do so, as they finished first in two out of the four categories. Alejandro G, Ellis ‘17 & Christopher C, Rogers ‘16 wiped the floor in their pool as well as the tournament placing first in senior boys doubles. Ayden A & Nick P, Whittall ‘18 also stunned the opponents and the crowd winning their pool, not losing a single game. Nick P said, “The tournament was intense and full of excitement.” It’s not just the boys who had an impressive outcome. The Brentwood girls got great experience and improved dramatically as the tournament went on. The tennis team was proud of the tournament and thought is was a huge success.
