Springing into Third Term

As sunlight dances on the water, the campus is aglow with dazzling reflection, providing a welcome change from the rainy routines of the second term. The air is filled with anticipation of students as they wrap up activities like the musical, A Chorus Line, and the competitive sports season. The Brentwood student body eagerly awaits a refreshing shift in the campus weather.

Ms Allen, Deputy Head of School – Academics, expresses her excitement about the arrival of spring. She notes “It is really exciting to see the sun come out and the flowers starting to bloom to welcome Spring onto campus.” Alongside this seasonal change, Brentwood’s focus shifts towards upcoming milestones, with the academic office looking forward to internal awards and graduation.

Seasonal transformations on campus also offer different opportunities both athletically and academically. With multiple sporting teams transitioning into their competitive season, Katie L, Mack ‘24, a valuable member of Senior Women’s Soccer is “pumped, excited, and ready” to showcase her team’s soccer skills this season.

In the Art’s Building, students channel their creativity into spring and summer-themed artwork and transition to work outside to embrace the season. Ms Luna, our hand-built pottery teacher, encourages students to “embrace nature in their artwork”, creating an environment in the pottery studio that is ready to foster this seasonal change.

Despite the pressure of February, marked by the end of the term assessments, reports, and numerous extracurricular activities, students look forward to what Ella W, Mack ‘25, describes as “the best time of the whole year”.
