The Halloween Hop

Last weekend the SAC hosted the annual Halloween dance. Mrs. Quinton, SAC sponsor and Sarah Pailin look alike, writes of the event:
The dance was a howl and lots of pictures were taken. Asha U and Greg H had a photo booth and took hundreds of portraits as students arrived. Our decorating committee (Alia V, Hanna V and Blaine W) outdid themselves with blood dripping from the mirrors in the washrooms, dancing skeletons, a graveyard and cobwebs everywhere. Davin K and Ed E picked three winners for costume prizes while Will R and Cam R played dance tunes, Aetheline C’s crew set up disco lights and Beatrice F and Ian M signed in 250 costumed revelers. The visiting grade 9 rugby team from England didn’t know what hit them! We collected some clothing and canned food for the Mill Bay Food Bank and made $1250 for the MOSQOY Youth Education fund. A number of Day Student parents also volunteered to flip burgers. Some of them came in costume and had as much fun, if not more, than the kids. On the Q Team were Doug Robb (Superman), Pam and Doyle Richmond, Marci McLean, Jim Broere, Lily Jackson, Brenda Colby, Greta Peters and Tony Reymer. Our cleanup and set up crews were outstanding – fast and efficient. Liz W did an amazing job organizing this event. From my perspective, as you might suspect from my superlatives, the dance was an unmitigated success.
