Water Pong 2019

Every year, the Grad Class is responsible of fundraising that goes towards a bursary to help send a student to Brentwood the following year. Constantly working towards our goal, the grad class has held numerous fundraisers such as selling candy grams for Valentine’s Day, corsages and boutineers for Snowball, and Boston Pizza at Regatta.  For the final fundraiser of the year, we wanted to host an event the whole school could be involved in so on Sunday June 2nd at 1pm, a school-wide water pong tournament will be hosted on the Turf beside the Foote Centre.  To enter into this friendly competition, students must pay a fee of $5 each and enter in teams of two. This not only opens them up to a chance of reigning as the water pong champs, but an additional prize is at stake. The winners of the tournament will each receive a $50 gift card to their chosen merchant Uptown, as well as Mr Felix’s golf cart for the day.  The Grad Council is encouraging costumes or matching team outfits for competitors. Playing times will be released prior to the tournament, and they’ll be posted around the school. There will also be afternoon snacks and drinks next to the Turf for players and hungry spectators, and Chantal P “wants you to come out for some fun and snacks”.  With the year winding down, this is a great opportunity to get outside and involved, and support a great fundraiser. As Blake C says, “Water Pong is my escape from reality.” Nadia K Hope ‘19
