Honor, perseverance, integrity, and respect are the four pillars on which Whittall House and the boys who call it home stand. Each year, our Whittall family grows, not only in size, but also in depth, as new relationships are made. Each new Brentwood student is assigned a house. Living in Whittall, however, is more than a simple affiliation; it is a birth into a new family. Not everyone can adjust to our family easily, the Grade 9s especially. They entered Whittall without much confidence, their eyes wide open. Throughout their orientation, they started to integrate themselves into the house and became more comfortable with their new brothers. The boys mostly spent their days learning cool tricks in their rooms and never getting to bed on time. The Grade 10s were better, although they too had their moments. Further along the road to graduation, the Grade 10s often handled themselves well, only sometimes needing to be brought a warm glass of milk before we tucked them into bed. The Grade 11s are an influential group of friends who will be running and leading Whittall in the year to come. They have come a long way from where they started. Through room changes, to bonding at the Whittall-Alex skate, the boys have learned many skills which will assist with the leadership roles they will have next year. Finally, the Grade 12 class: we are a tightly-knit group who have been together through it all. Referring to us as housemates does no justice to our bonds which will outlast the time we had here. We spent our senior year knowing that it would too soon come to an end, so we spent every minute together as a family. Whittall had an outstanding year, and as a group, we have relationships that will never die. For these reasons and so many more, the term "going back to school" has, for me, evolved into simply, "going home." Will Hardy, Whittall House Captain
