Eco-Challenge Champions: There is Much Hope for Privett

Sunny skies, an azure ocean, and vibrant house colours sparkled around the Brentwood waterfront Friday afternoon for the annual Interhouse Eco-Challenge competition. A relay race that features singles and doubles kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, portaging, running, orienteering, shelter building and fire starting, the event pitted Brentwood’s four coed competitive houses against each other. Despite coming out the doubles kayak in last place, the men and women of Privett and Hope Houses splashed their way through the competition and vaulted themselves into the lead of what is sure to be a heated yearlong sprint to Interhouse glory.Privett –Hope were powered from last to first thanks to an awesome run by Alex R, and an incredibly quick orienteering leg led by Andrew C.Ellis was able to secure second place in large part due to the incredible shelter building talents of new grade 9 student Sion G, while Whittall and Rogers rounded out the results in 3rd and 4th respectively.
