Drug Awareness Day 1

The Grade 10s spent last Friday night prep and Saturday morning at Drug Awareness Day. On Friday Dr. Digney, the father of two former Brentonians, came and educated us about various drugs. Having treated many drug-related incidents, he was a very informative and interesting speaker; he set the stage nicely for the day to come. On Saturday, we all split off into their respective groups. Then we rotated through different speakers. Some members of Narcotics Anonymous came and spoke to us about their personal experiences; it was very powerful hearing stories from people who had overcome their own addictions. We also heard stories from some Brentwood students, which really gave us a different and personal perspective. The day ended with a wonderful talk from Kevin Brooks.
