First, from our Senior Girls Basketball team, we have the Coaches Award Presented to a deserving member of the Brentwood Girls Basketball program in recognition of distinguished performance. This year we have Co-winners, Tajzha D & Petra J. Tajzha and Petra were the two stalwarts on the Senior Girls team this year taking turns leading them in scoring and rebounding. Everyone saw the thrilling comeback victory by our girls in their Showcase game vs Shawnigan. These two girls led the team again at the South Island tournament where they knocked off SLS in their own gym to earn a berth to Islands. Congrats to both on an excellent season. In Senior Boys Basketball there are two awards to give out. The Hoshi Trophy for Defensive Player of the Year goes to Paul L. Paul had a brilliant season leading the team at both ends of the floor. He led the team in scoring on many occasions but he was also a lock down defender who made life miserable for the opposing team. Paul is one of the few players to earn back-to-back 1st team all-star awards at the Island Championship. He has had an amazing career. Well done Paul. The Players’ Award is presented for outstanding commitment to the program, teammates and the love of the game and goes to Skyler R & Devin C. These guys clearly loved the game and spent countless hours in the gym and they have emerged as two of the top players on the island. Skyler was an All-Star at the Island Championship and Devin was a terrific Captain and an anchor for the team all season. Mr. Blake Gage, Director of Athletics
