Brentwood Regatta is fast approaching with just one more day before the first races will be flying down the 1500-meter course. For the boys’ side of the BCRC, the past week has been used to make some final lineup changes and to ensure that each crew is as ready for this weekend’s racing as they can be. This meant trying out some different seating orders and throwing in some gut-busting sprint workouts such as the 8x500m and 2000m, 1500m, 1000m, 500m that we completed. The beginning of racing season has also meant that morning training has resumed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The lineups for Brentwood Regatta were finalized Sunday evening with the top boats for both the Junior and Senior Boys being named. From bow to stroke, the line-up for the Junior Eight is as follows: Derek A, Whittall ‘17 Casper P, Whittall ‘18, William P, Whittall ‘18, Cameron W, Ellis ‘17, Aidan W, Ellis ‘17, Max V, Rogers ‘17, Peter L, Whittall ‘17, Lion T, Privett ‘17, Ayden A, Whittall ‘18 (coxswain). From bow to stroke, the rowers for the Junior A Coxed Quad are as follows: Elliot R, Rogers ‘15, Louis B, Rogers ‘16, Liam B, Rogers ‘16, Alex R, Privett ‘16, Malcolm C, Whittall ‘15 (coxswain). The Junior A Quad will be the first Brentwood crew to race this weekend as they kick off the second event of the regatta at 2:07pm this Friday. After many months of hard training, the Brentwood rowers are fired up to represent the team on our turf. Many hours have been put into the preparation for this weekends’ racing by coaches and rowers alike. The hours that have gone into these three days have made for many nervous rowers, all knowing that this weekend will be topped only by Nationals in June. All of these factors making for only one thought, which will be running through the head of each rower on Thursday night: Brentwood Gold. Aidan W, Ellis ‘17
