Good Serve into The New Season
Sun, fun, motivated coaches and happy students give Brentwood the opportunity to have an incredible start to this year’s third term tennis season. Everybody from Grade 8 to Grade 12 who is interested in playing tennis can meet up at the courts and play in a 1 hour practice sometime between 2:00pm and 6:00pm on sports afternoons. We get divided into groups of beginner, advanced or professional students and our teachers, Ms. McLean, Ms. Felix and Ms. Martin help us to get better, no matter what our skill level. Our practices consist of an explanation of new steps, the time to practice the learned skills, and then games where we can show off all of our new expertise. The more advanced and professional students also participate in tournaments, playing on a competitive level and representing Brentwood. It doesn’t matter what skills you have, one thing always stays the same: the fun and pleasure in this sport. Playing tennis gives you the opportunity to socialize and play with new partners, practice the sport and maybe also get a tan. A big thank you to all of the coaches for supporting the team with their knowledge and expertise to turn even the not-so-advanced players into little experts.
