You Only Live Once, But You Get To Serve Twice

After weeks spent training and practicing, on Monday, May 4th, the Brentwood Junior Tennis team hosted the 2015 ISABC Junior tournament. The weather was nice (perhaps a bit windy), the BBQs were set up, and the teams arrived from Vancouver and the Island. We had the honour of playing matches against Crofton House, St. George’s and Shawnigan Lake. Both the boys and girls teams got off to a strong start and carried that momentum throughout the day. The girls, Maria M ‘18, Nancy M ‘17, Camila GQ ‘17, Maya J ‘17, Flavie BJ ‘17, Leila M ‘19, Bethany W ‘17 & Cara A ‘17, defeated all opponents to earn the gold medals and bring the trophy back to Brentwood. The boys, Alejandro G ‘17, Samuel P ‘17, Chris W ‘17, Pars S ‘18, Jaime DT ‘18, Enrique C ‘18, Ricardo C ‘18, Nick P ‘18, Daniel M ‘18, Sion G ‘18, Jean-Louw M ‘19 & Alexander C ‘19 played well and were narrowly defeated by a strong St. George’s team to take the silver medal. All members of the team played strongly and represented Brentwood well. Next up for the Junior team will be the Invitational Provincial Junior Tournament held in Vancouver on May 22 and 23. The Brentwood teams will be looking to repeat their strong performance from the ISAs. As always, the support of our coaches was important for us during the matches. Mrs. McLean organized and ran the tournament, Mrs. Martin supplied the awesome BBQ, and the support from Mrs. Felix, Mr. Webster and Mr. Bersh helped all the players give their best on the courts.
