Swift Wins for Brentwood’s Track and Field Team

With the sun shining and the rain clouds receding, it’s time for the Brentwood community to pull on their track shoes and go for a run. Unlike the rest us, Kabir B, Rogers ‘15, Nairee P, Allard ‘18, Rachel J, Hope ‘16, Sion G, Ellis ‘18, Kieran M, Rogers ‘17 & Denise R, Alex ‘17 have been training since the beginning of third term as well as competing for their individual sports It has paid off. These Brentwood athletes competed at the Mid-Islands Track and Field Meet with astonishing results. Sion dominated the field events capturing Gold in Javelin, Triple Jump, Shot Put and a Silver in High Jump as well as grabbing a Gold in the 200m. Rachel blew the competition out of the water in the long jump, flying almost a full meter further than her closest competitor. Denise snagged 1st in the 100m, 200m and 400m while Kieran won Gold in the High Jump and Nairee secured Gold in Javelin and Silver in the 200m. Kabir, our lone Grade 12 participant, placed first in the 400m and 200m and finished off a successful day with a Silver medal in the 100m.
