In Duncan Christian’s Welcome Back Tournament this past weekend, the Senior Girls competed with teams from around the island. Following a tough loss in the first game against AAA Kwalikum, the girls turned around and smashed Kelsey 84-18. After a final game versus rival Shawnigan where the girls crushed them 76-23, we raced back onto the bus to quickly get ready for Snowball. The girls put in a solid effort this weekend and should be proud of the outcomes. Congratulations to Chidinma A, Alex ‘17 who made the Tournament All-Star Team. On Tuesday, we headed up to SLS to face them on their home court. With a close score until the second quarter, the girls fought hard, wearing Shawnigan down until the last buzzer. Even while fouling out our three post players, we had a scrappy but strong defensive backbone, coming away with a 60-44 victory. Well done to the team. Petra J, Mack, ‘16
