Soccer: Junior Girls extend unbeaten run

The Junior Girls soccer team travelled to Shawnigan this week and recorded their fifth straight victory en route to a 4-1 win. Although the score was decisive, the game was far tighter, with both teams creating a number of chances. Ahead by a goal at the half, it was Megan in net who made a number of key saves to preserve the slim margin. The defence (Mairi, Christina, Maurghen, Ana S., Alexa, and Jessica) held off a fast and talented Shawnigan offence. Eventually, Brentwood capitalised on some good team play to score a number of crucial goals (Erica, Ana C., Kate, and Marta all notching a tally). The team has one remaining game, at home against Prevost this Thursday. The team has qualified for the Island Finals by virtue of winning the league, and travels to compete in the playoffs in Nanaimo next week.
