A heartwarming tale from the 1930’s about two dissimilar families who are joined because of a marriage proposal will be portrayed on stage in the Killy Theatre this week by the Senior Acting class. Alice Sycamore nervously awaits introducing her fiancé Tony of the conservative Kerbys to her eccentric and unconventional family. When the families meet it is an explosive occasion.
Curtain at 7:30 p.m. each evening, Wednesday through Saturday, 15th-18th April. Admission $10 at the door, or call the Brentwood Box Office (250)743-8756.
The accompanying photo shows cast members Gordon Clarke and Sloan Dickey undergoing some premature aging.  Sloan plays old Grampa Vanderhof, the patriarch of the zany Sycamore clan. Gordon plays the middle-aged ice delivery man who lives with the family.  Gordon’s ‘balding pattern’ was created by Julia at Jada’s Beauty Salon.
