Dover Bay Tournament 2012

While the sun was shining outside, the provincially 6th ranked Brentwood Senior Girls volleyball team was busy inside the gym competing in their first tournament of the year at Dover Day in Nanaimo. This event was comprised of some of the most talented high school teams in the province and Brentwood finished the weekend with 4 matches won and 2 losses.

In round robin action, the girls handed Timberline (the eventual tournament champion) its only loss of the tournament with scores of 25-22 and 25-21. We then defeated Duncan Christian 25-12, 23-25 and 15-11 before suffering a heartbreaking loss to Nanaimo District 25-19, 24-26, 6-15.

On Saturday the team played top ranked Handsworth and were beaten 25-19, 25-20. We then defeated Frances Kelsey and Duncan Christian to wrap up a successful weekend.

Veterans Kendra S, Spencer M, Karlien L.R and Emily Y were named players of the game in round robin matches. Newcomers Lauren H and Brooke L also played some great volleyball. Up next for the girls is the Trinity Western Tournament in two weeks.
