Camp Qwanoes

As Grade 10s this year, either new or returning, we all have to face the challenge of getting to know all of these new faces who will be our classmates for the rest of the year. In an adventure organized by Mr. McCarthy and Mr. Doehler, we were able to skip our classes for the day on Tuesday and leave school, to enjoy a day full of activities at Camp Qwanoes.
We were divided into four groups: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire, and led by faculty members who accompanied us throughout the day. There were four stations, four challenges to meet. The most memorable experience for me was when my group went to The Sky Scraper, a giant swing, where I screamed and yelled as I dropped what seemed to me 50 metres from the sky. This wasn’t as bad as it sounds, but it still scared me enough to leave me howling the whole way down.

At the end of the day we also got to play some games and activities that were fun and exciting and I got to meet people I hadn’t said hello to before, which, I like to think, was the whole point of the day.
