A Holiday Tradition
On Sunday December 2nd, 50 children between the ages of 0-10 gathered in the McNeill Centre for the annual Children’s Christmas Party. Put on with the help of dedicated members of the Student Activities’ Committee, the kitchen staff and Mrs. Quinton, it’s a classic celebration of the holiday season.
Ranging in age from month-old newborns to veterans of holiday merriment, the festivities left everyone smiling. The children participated in many activities from arts & crafts, cookie decorating to seasonal games. Mrs. Quinton’s Junior Drama students also performed Cinderella for all in attendance. After singing several timeless Christmas carols together, Santa Claus made a very special appearance to give out gifts to the kids. It is a cherished celebration for all those involved: children, parents and helpers alike.
The best reward for those who volunteered their time were by far the exciting atmosphere and the smiling children whose day belonged to them.
