AP Chinese Language & Culture 12
This course emphasizes communication (understanding and being understood by others) by applying interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational skills in real-life situations. This includes vocabulary usage, language control, communication strategies, and cultural awareness. The AP Chinese Language & Culture course is designed to develop students' proficiencies in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Mandarin. The course emphasizes communication in real-life contexts, fostering cultural understanding and appreciation through an exploration of Chinese traditions, practices, and contemporary society. To best facilitate the study of language and culture, the course is taught almost exclusively in Mandarin. Students will write the AP Chinese Language and Culture exam in May.
Course Prerequisite: Mandarin 12. Students without Mandarin 12 credits who wish to enroll must schedule an interview with Ms. Yang for consideration.
