Hitting All the Right Notes

For the 4th consecutive year, the Brentwood College Concert Choir, led by Mrs. Elizabeth MacIssac, was chosen to receive a shield in the Paul J. Bourret class at the Victoria Music Festival. Brentwood’s Jazz Choir, Tonic Fusion, led by Mr. Phil Newns, will also receive an award at next week’s Choral Honours Concert. Both groups have been invited to sing two songs at the Honours Concert on April 25 and the Concert Choir has been nominated for the provincial championships.
The Concert Choir also performed at the West Coast Concert Choir Festival in Victoria, a qualifier for Musicfest Canada. They came away with a "Superior" rating which equates to "Gold" and this will undoubtedly lead to an invitation to the Nationals in 2014. Meanwhile, the Jazz Band performed at the Victoria Festival on Tuesday and was very well received by the adjudicator.
