Senior Soccer Slips Past Shawnigan

Last Friday brought with it some unfortunate weather and some excellent soccer as Brentwood journeyed over to Shawnigan Lake School to play an important league game heading into playoffs. Uniforms and players were all drenched by the time warm up was over and the game was ready to start, but the weather wouldn’t dampen the morale of the team as the game kicked into action. Halfway through the first half, Karly D managed to slide one into the net: 1-0 Brentwood. A few moments later, an untimely hand ball was called against one of our defenders inside the box, giving Shawnigan a great opportunity to tie things up with a penalty shot; however, a great save was made by keeper Kendra S, helping us hang on to our slim lead. The back and forth action continued for the remainder of the game, forcing Kendra to be quick on her toes and make some really excellent saves on Shawnigan’s corner kicks.
