Wowing the Crowd
"Music does bring people together. No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves we are the same." – John Denver
Year after year, Regatta weekend at Brentwood proves to be the source of many reunions. Old Brentonians and even the freshly graduated return to Brentwood to re-live old memories and reunite with old friends.
Many gatherings seem to take place on the Plaza, where performers fill the ears of many. Several familiar faces have even taken on the microphone.
Brentwood’s alumna Georgia Murray, who was a top finalist on CBC’s “Cover Me Canada,” performed on Saturday night and wowed the crowd. Dancing in her audience were past grads, ecstatic to have found each other again. Alumna Ashleigh Eymann also performed.
Also presenting their talent during the weekend were Brentwood’s very own music groups consisting of very talented students. Congratulations to the many Rock Bands that put on memorable shows.
Local bands such as Cruel Shoes, Monte Nordstrom, Kings Without, and Hummer were definite crowd pleasers, along with DJ Tor-Nate-O who took to the stage at night and set the tone for some amazing dances.
A big thanks to all the amazing performers and the fantastic listeners.
Rock on.
