Closing Down Cowichan

Senior Girls Soccer went into its final league game against Cowichan High this past Tuesday with all of our girls ready to play. With a five-game winning streak and the title of league champions on the line, we knew we had to be crisp. So even when undefeated Cowichan scored early on, giving them a 1-0 lead, Brentwood did not back down. We continued to be resilient and the game was quickly tied 1-1 by a great kick from Meaghan B. And that was just the beginning. A great shot from Erin M off of a cross from Karly D soon found the net, and Brentwood headed into half with our first lead of the game. The second half showed no signs of Brentwood slowing down as Karly D flew past the defense and put the ball into the net to give Brentwood our third. Sarah “Allstar” M is never one to be left out of the action, so after some fantastic footwork, she decided to take one to the back of the net from outside of the 18 yard box. Karly D would hammer another ball into the net after a fantastic cross from Eryn W, giving the game its final score of 5-1 Brentwood, leaving us as league champs, as well as on a six-game winning streak.
