This course gives students a broad exposure to the fundamentals of Canadian Law and ongoing opportunities to enhance and apply this knowledge in practical ways. Traditional legal subjects such as criminal law, torts, and contracts will be examined, while students also gain knowledge and insight into the importance and relevant topics of constitutional, human rights, Aboriginal, and family law. Learning how to think critically and solve problems given relevant case law is highly emphasized in this course. Both written and oral advocacy skills will be developed and assessed.
