Mandarin 11
Mandarin 11 builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired in previous years. It aims to help students build confidence, communication and trust in an interactive and immersive Mandarin environment. The course covers all areas of language competency: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Language acquisition is fostered through storytelling and engaging classroom discussions. Students will have opportunities to share about their daily lives at school and home, as well as their plans for the future. Cultural exploration is an integral part of the course. Activities include making bubble tea, crafting mooncakes for the Moon Festival, writing Spring Couplets, traditional paper-cutting, and participating in a field trip to Victoria’s Chinatown for Lunar New Year.
Course Prerequisite: Mandarin 10 or its equivalent. Students should have completed at least 2 years of Mandarin studies.
