Photography: Beginner Traditional Film

PhotographyArts

This course is an opportunity for both experienced photographers and new photographers to learn the art of traditional (analog) photography. Through hands-on assignments, beginners learn about the camera's controls, camera accessories, photo design techniques and basic darkroom skills including film processing and paper printing. Challenging but fun assignments, using traditional equipment and techniques, will lead students through a number of exercises to create great hand-made photographs. Students will need to bring their own 35mm SLR traditional (film) camera to the course or consider renting one of our beginner traditional (film) cameras—$150 for the course duration. There are additional costs for film and printing paper, which are available from the School Store.
