Winning Streak or Just Good Luck?
Giving up is not in NDSS’ blood. After their loss against our Grade 9 and 10 rugby team, the Colts, earlier in the term, we were asked for a rematch. We set out for Nanaimo after lunch on Tuesday, April 29 to play NDSS for a second time. They welcomed us to their campus respectfully, embacing us with open arms before the battle began. Dodging bodies left and right, our gazel, Ethan B, Ellis ’16, amazed everyone with the first try of the game. After a couple more tries for us, the coaches started subbing some of our starting players for our substitutes to even the game out, but still nearly every player in the team scored a try. During the second half, they explored for a few breaches in our defence, but gladly these breaks were sealed almost instantly making our defence almost impenetrable. Regardless of the score, our players remained modest. This victory is a good sign, being our second consecutive win. Good or lucky? Maybe a bit of both. Daniel M, Privett ’16
