Evening of Dance – Break A Leg
Break a Leg The last few weeks leading up to the annual Evening of Dance are always incredibly hectic for the students and staff involved in the dance program. We cram in choreography, last-minute touch ups, searching for costumes, and of course, the nerve-wracking thoughts whirling around in our heads about performing for all of our peers. The show was held on May 1st and 2nd. It had a great turn out from parents, staff, and the greater Mill Bay community. Everyone is welcome in the Brentwood dance program. There is a wide range of experience from a first year novice to a lifetime dancer. The theme of War and Peace was chosen by dance Captain, Youngeun L, Alex ‘14. This theme allowed for a wide range in styles including tap, contemporary, and hip hop. More than half of the pieces in the show were impressively student choreographed. It was a very successful emotional night for everyone, especially the Grade 12 dancers and Ms. Jenn, who will be leaving the dance program this year. We wish them all the best of luck in the upcoming year and hope to see them again soon. Thank you to Mrs. Blake, Ms. Jenn, the technical crew, as well as Sally S and Younguen for all of their hard work and dedication to make this year’s show an amazing success. Allie W, Hope ’16
