This past week, the Student Executive Council (SEC) practiced their leadership skills and worked to establish the atmosphere they hope to set for the coming school year. Starting off with a barbeque dinner at Mr. Patel’s house, the SEC was welcomed back onto campus to discuss the goals of 2013/2014. The sixteen senior students have already become a closely-knit group with many hopes and aspirations. Later that night the SEC attended a leadership workshop with Mrs. Felix and established the tone they want to create inside the Brentwood family. The next day, these ideas were implemented through an Orientation Assistant Program to help welcome the school’s new members. Since Tuesday last, the future artists, athletes, and scholars have survived polar swim tests, lectures, music and language assessments, scavenger hunts, and daunting crowds of unfamiliar faces. Through all of this, the SEC worked together to bring the new students to their scheduled destinations and even found the time to film the video below. The SEC was excited to discover how well they functioned as team amidst this organized chaos. This promising start bodes well for their future. The SEC agrees that with the new student faces and faculty, this year will become one of the most memorable and innovative yet. 470 friends!
