7 Brentonians Made Golden

Last weekend, Tom G, Rogers ’14 won the U19 Men’s 8+ at the Royal Canadian Henley in St. Catharines, Ontario rowing for the Don Rowing Club. Not to be outdone by Tom, four members of the Brentwood Rugby Club captured first place at the Rugby Canada National Championships. Aaron H, Privett ’15 scored four conversions in BC’s 50-0 win over Ontario to help BC claim the U16 Boys Gold. Mckenna H, Alexandra ’16, Avi S, Alexandra ’16, & Ciel A-B, Mackenzie ‘15 were all members of the BC Gold team which defeated the U16 Ontario Girls team 15-0. Brentwood Rugby coach, Mr. Marius Felix, described this as “a first for Brentwood female rugby players.” Back on the water, Brentonian Martin Barakso, Whittall ‘12 earned first place for BC at the Canada Summer Games by handily winning the 4- and 8+. Brentwood Rowing coach Ms. Robyn Willow is also to be applauded for leading the BC women to gold medals in the 2-, 4- and 8+.
