A Frosty View
Far from pristine to the naked eye, winter has officially ensnared the Brentwood campus. Cruel winds have rattled the window panes. Rain has lashed relentlessly from all sides. Summer gave Brentonians their last kiss goodbye upon the advent of Fall. “It came out of nowhere, like the most ruthless RKO” mused Hayden L, Privett ‘15. It’s certainly not an Alberta winter, but it has gotten cold enough to bring out the sweaters. Although icy flurries threaten to sap the warmth from faculty and students alike, an equally dominant forecast of grit and joy will undoubtedly suppress the November cold that has come over the school. Warm vibes ripple across the boarding houses, more vibrant and prevalent than those of the choppy waves crashing into the shores of Mill Bay. Tea brews comfort, and in the words of Head Prefect Tyler P, Rogers ’15, “Winter Break will come soon enough”. Now, we look on to greener pastures, despite the frosted fields and bone-chilling air. Hope endures despite an academic Grim Reaper, November assessment week, another endeavour that the Brentwood team will surmount in their pursuit of perpetual success. The sun will shine again. As reflected by Nicholas Sparks, “Nothing worthwhile is ever easy, and nothing easy is ever worthwhile”. Robbie S, Privett ‘15
