A Night of Many Magnificents

A flurry of smiles bulged through the doors of the T. Gil Bunch for the long-awaited night of special magnificence set to take place on the evening of June 5th: the Concert for A Summer’s Eve. Students, parents, and alumni alike were dazzled by a vast array of musical talents as the performers brought their hearts to the stage for what would be a kiss goodbye to an iconic year of music. To kick off the much anticipated show, Liam L and his assembly of aspiring jazz musicians took to the stage, erupting into a symphony of unparalleled groove — providing an appetizer for the buzzing crowd. By this point, the joust of sound was in full swing, as Aidan C emerged from the darkness, igniting the audience into a frenzy with his Bublé-centric flair. Undoubtedly, the crowd were "Feelin’ Good" at this phase of the show. Next, we were treated to yet another exemplar of musical brilliance as the rock band exploded at breakneck speed before our eyes. Spearheaded by Hannah C, a trio of irresistible rock queens in the shape of Ciel A-B and Claire A stole the hearts of the miscellaneous "Lonely Boys" of the crowd. Sabin L graced the limelight with his presence once again, winding an ode to clarinet expertise from his static perch onstage as the notes of serenity oozed from his instrument. He seldom fails to please his onlookers. While many gifted young adults fear the stage, the one-of-a-kind Liam "Iceberg" L cannot seem to get enough of it. In memorizing fashion, he stepped front and center for his second headlining performance of the night and delivered in spectacular fashion with a bilingual piece "Time To Say Goodbye". Hungry for more, the audience departed for the interval, calling a temporary musical ceasefire before, locked and loaded, Emily B and Kira C struck souls dead in their tracks, a feat that was closely followed by the hotly anticipated return of Tonic Fusion. Our oft-decorated jazz group lit up the building seemingly with ease. Finally, the star studded choir marshaled to the stage to round off a sublime night of music. On the precipice of a well-deserved summer holiday, the school was treated to a phenomenal artistic endeavor.
