Would we win any games? At the beginning of the season we didn’t think we would even be playing games! The season did not start out the greatest. We were missing serves, not calling the ball, and slowly losing players due to illness and injury. Next thing we knew we were getting ready to play our first game against Gulf Islands Secondary School. Our Brentwood B team joined us and they earned a big win; our team was not so successful. Our first win came very shortly after (thank goodness). We played against Queen Margaret School and won both sets. What a moment for celebration! After our win we gained confidence and started to improve in practices and win even more games. Next thing we knew, the league tournament was just around the corner. We were all psyched and energetic about the upcoming event. That Thursday, when it was time to go, everyone had their game faces on. We got to play against all of the teams we had played against in the past and won several games (against QMS, Q of A, and GISS) with a final result of 3rd place. Good job girls! Q of A came in second place, and QMS in first. We still went to Dairy Queen after so we were all pretty satisfied either way. What a great season it turned out to be. Not only did we improve our volleyball skills but we made amazing new friends who we would be happy to call our sisters. Tara B ’17, Allard
