Brentwood Students Fight Alien Invasion in Celebration of World Wetlands Day

A menacing life-form has arrived right here on Vancouver Island! It has penetrated the local area, and with no natural predators, is taking over increasing territory and threatening the local community, including Somenos Marsh. It is changing the chemistry of the soil, and choking the life out of local inhabitants. From a landing party of only three individuals on the southern end of the island, the invaders’ population has exploded, and they have been storming northward, overrunning the countryside and overwhelming our fair island. In the face of this danger, six heroic Brentwood warriors charged into battle against this aggressive villain. Under lowering skies, they launched a surprise attack on their enemies, slashing at them with giant blades. As well as vanquishing the local masses of Scotch Broom, the group picked a mountain of garbage lining the trail, swept leaves off the path and decorated it with rows of stones. After a couple of hours’ of hard work, the battlefield looked like a beautiful park again. The group rejoiced with a feast of bananas and cookies. There is still a lot of work to be done.
