Cafeteria Staff: Thanks for the Food!

For rowers, there are really only two certainties when it comes to racing, especially in such a large-scale event as the Brentwood Regatta. One, is that you will, no matter what, make it over the finish line, and two, that there will most definitely be food involved. As thousands of extra bodies rowed onto campus for the weekend, there was one set of Brentwood Staff who’s job the campus couldn’t do without. For the last three days, with more than twice the number of people in the school either staying on campus or visiting throughout the day, the cafeteria has had to produce twice as many delicious meals to make sure that no one went home hungry, to make sure that all the rowers did, in fact, make it over the finish line. Even without the wind delays, the cafeteria staff were almost certainty some of the first people up in the morning to make a hot breakfast for the scores of hungry rowers who would be eager for a bite before early morning races. Dining hours were extended to two hours to account for awkward racing hours, and decked out in their bright orange regatta t-shirts, the cafeteria staff were there for every minute. Along with student help and the watchful help of Mr. Luna, Mr. Tate and the other duty staff, they continued to work through the day to serve up nutritious meals to over eight hundred student competitors, Brentwood students and staff. A huge thankyou to all the cafeteria staff, student helpers and duty staff for being another essential part of making sure the regatta ran smoothly.
