Food Reviews Round 2
Entrepreneurship 12 isn’t just a course – it’s a way of life – at least for the three days of regatta. Members of the class, separated into groups and competitive in a simulated business world, battle it out to serve up a real-world business experience. These five booths represent a widespread array of products, from the sweet to the spicy! Wild West Churros A unique Mexican delicacy straight from the Wild West. I was quickly and efficiently served a 6-inch churro coupled with a small cup of caramel sauce. Mariel F, Allard ‘14 noted that the churros were soft and doughy, with a nice crispy sugary coating on the outside. With a menu well tailored for their Wild West/Mexican vibe, also serving Mexican hot chocolate, the Wild West Churros are doing very well in the first two days of Regatta. Pull! With a name to emphasize the nature of the Brentwood Regatta, a tough pull through the finish line and the tingling taste of success, Brentwood’s pulled pork stand “Pull!” has the whole package. I had a pulled pork sandwich – moist, tender and juicy – which certainly filled me up enough to rip it down the course. I would highly recommend it. And grab a Jones Soda while you’re at it! The Donut Shop There are few ways that you can go wrong with a donut, but there are many ways you can go right. In the land of Tim Hortons, I think it’s safe to say these Canadians have learned well. The Donut Shop is the go-to place for all things sweet and delicious, with a variety of different toppings to choose from. My personal favorites were the mini donuts, which came with the choice of dipping sauce, though, when there’s Nutella around, there really isn’t another choice. Fiesta Tacos Fresh, cool, and with a little bit of kick, this classic Mexicana draws in members of all backgrounds with its fresh and tasty quesadillas and tacos. I was impressed by the freshness of the ingredients, and was served with a smile by Faryn B, ‘Hope 15 and Lucilia L, Hope ‘15. All around, a fresh, delicious experience. Great job to all the entrepreneurship endeavors, and good luck on the final day of sales! Joanna L, Alex ’13, Photos by Joanna & Karli S, Hope ’15
