Fun and Games on Founder’s Plaza

Last Saturday was the vivacious Fun and Games night put on by SPARC. This is one of the first school-wide events that kicks off the school year. It brings everyone together to unwind after the first two overwhelmingly busy weeks.

Lively, upbeat music echoed throughout the campus, a signal to get down to Founder’s Plaza and engage in activities hosted by SPARC members. Students had the rare opportunity to throw a pie at their least or most favourite teacher as well as a few prefects. Whipped cream smeared all over the faces of Mrs. Reynolds, Mr. Bryant, and Mr. Patel was a picture to never be forgotten.

Faces were painted by the famously artistic Annie K, Jonathan C-H and Madeline H bringing childhood memories into high school. If paint wasn’t their choice of face art, students could plaster their faces with jello at the jello-eating contest.

Jello-eating wasn’t the only test for eating skills; the donut challenge provided quite the task. Contestants were blindfolded, spun around, and set free to find their prize, delicious glazed donuts hanging on strings between two poles. Triple twister tested the students’ balance and flexibility, stretching their bodies to impossible lengths. The dance was bumpin’ in the background as Lexi M tore up the floor, showing the new students how to let go and have a good time, Brentwood style.

The night concluded with free ice cream with crushed Smarties and chocolate sauce, a cherry on top of a fun-filled night.
