Get Ready to Rock and Roll!

The microphones are on, the guitars are plugged in, and the Advanced Rock Band is ready to roll! The music is just magnificent; it gives the listener the feeling of excitement and leaves her wanting more. This April 27, the twelve members of the Advanced Rock Band headed to a recording studio in Duncan to record three of their best songs. The trip was organized by our teacher, Mr. Scott McGill, and his main goal for the trip was to give the students the opportunity to listen to themselves and hear how they sound. The students seemed really satisfied with the results. They could really notice all the hard work that they had put into those songs since the beginning of the year. We recorded “Make You a Believer” by Sass Jordan, “Piece of my Heart” by Janis Joplin and “Black Dog” by Led Zeppelin. The Advanced Rock Band really appreciated the time that was dedicated to organizing this amazing trip. We now have a different perspective of how music really works. We all got a glimpse of how the music business world can change our lives. The best of luck to this amazingly talented group of young adults in their musical futures. Alvaro C, Ellis ‘17
